NZ'S FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY 2014–2019

A silent tribute to those who served, Manawatu

A silent slideshow (inspired by the Berry photographic plates) of formal portraits taken of servicemen before they headed off to the unknown trials of war.

An unknown soldier circa WW1

An unknown number of servicemen from our district never returned from the battlefields of Europe and the Pacific, but the many who did went on with their families, to play a significant role in the ongoing development of the Manawatu.

Our project is a silent slideshow (inspired by the Berry plates) of formal portraits taken of servicemen, and sometimes their nearest and dearest, before they headed off to the unknown trials of war.  This slideshow will play in the Coach House Museum theatre and be available for sale on DVD.

Copies of photographs will be sought from local residents, along with name, rank and service number.
