A book that shares the stories of the soldiers from the Thames region who went off to the First World War. Launched in 2014.

The stories of the soldiers from the Thames region who went off to the First World War have been celebrated in a new 300-page book called From the Gold Mine to the Firing Line. Written by local historical enthusiasts from the Coromandel Heritage Trust (Althea Barker, Meghan Hawkes, Kae Lewis, David Wilton, Russell Skeet, Roger Strong & Tracey Spence) the book commemorates the people from the Thames region who went to war, the families they left behind, and in particular the service men who did not return.

A limited number of the first edition are available for sale at $50 a copy from The Treasury bookshop and can be ordered online.
