A Rotary community project to enable young people to explore and share local knowledge about the First World War.

The project will involve students (years 7-8 in 2016) throughout the country exploring, identifying and explaining street and place names in their neighbourhood that have an association with the people or events of the First World War.

Individual students will select one of their local street or place names and prepare and make a presentation about this event or person.

A competition will be held to find the best presentations at school level, district level and national level.

It is anticipated that the national winner will be sponsored to travel to Passchendaele in October 2017.

This activity is being worked on from
