NZ'S FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY 2014–2019

WW100 Director Appointed

23 October 2014

Sarah Davies started at WW100 on Monday 20 October. Sarah joins the WW100 Centenary Office from the Ministry for the Environment where she was instrumental in establishing the Natural Resources Sector programme. This is a collaboration across seven central government agencies that has been responsible for delivering significant work programmes including the Natural Resources theme of the Government’s Business Growth Agenda.
“I have always had a real interest in what makes a nation tick,” says Sarah. “WW100 provides an important platform, supported by government agencies and important stakeholders, for exploring New Zealand’s history – military and social. Through it the nation will gain a clearer understanding of the impact of the First World War on New Zealand identity.”
“Sarah is well practised at leading inter-departmental programmes of work and brings strong strategic leadership and relationship management skills to this position,” says Rosalind Plimmer, WW100 Steering Committee member. ‘She will guide the project through the next phase.”
