Here’s a brief history of Armistice Day and some historic accounts about events that took place around New Zealand, and on the front line. You could use them as readings or in speeches or as inspiration for your planning. Download as Word doc (51 KB) or PDF (499 KB)
We’ve developed an Armistice logo to create a visual thread linking centenary events and activities across New Zealand. Its arrows point to the past and to the future, representing the connections created throughout the centenary across generations and time.
It will feature prominently in the WW100 Armistice centenary awareness campaign and we’d love to see it used by communities too. There are a range of different colour-ways and file formats available for download.

You are welcome to use the Armistice logo to identity your Armistice centenary activities. It is not intended to be used for merchandising, or in association with projects for commercial or financial gain except those commission by the New Zealand government. Please contact us if you’re not sure.
The WW100 Programme Office reserves the right to ask individuals to remove the Armistice logo from their project if it is used in an inappropriate manner.
If you don’t already have the WW100 Symbol on file you may like to download it too. The Armistice and WW100 symbols are designed to work together.
