Exhibition 'Facing the Front' New Zealand's Enduring First World War, 12 June – 24 August 2014. Curated by Gavin McLean.
Facing the Front is the New Zealand Portrait Gallery’s contribution to the country’s commemoration of the First World War.
The exhibition will feature images of people who experienced the war first hand, including the monarchs, politicians, generals, scientists, businesspeople, VC winners, nurses, charity workers and conscientious objectors. The exhibition will also showcase the individuals who have helped shape our view of the war, people such as the First World War official historians, war memorial architects and novelists.
