Fundraising for Cambridge Brass Band youth to attend Le Quesnoy Commemorations in France

Youth members of the Cambridge Brass Band are raising funds to visit Le Quesnoy, France for centenary commemorations in 2018.

Cambridge Brass Band

The Cambridge Brass Band has been invited to visit Le Quesnoy, France in 2018 to mark the Centenary of the Liberation of Le Quesnoy in November 1918 by New Zealand forces. Le Quesnoy and Cambridge have been Sister Cities since 1999.

The core of the band will feature 17 Cambridge youth between the ages of 7 and 18 supported by their parents and some members of the senior band. Although details have yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated that the band will play at formal events on 4 November, present concerts in schools, pre-schools and resthomes as well as at least two more formal concerts.

In order to get the youth members of the band to France fundraising is underway. If you would like to support the band, please get in touch with Cambridge Brass Band Manager Paul Murphy at secretary@cambridgebrassband.co.nz or on (07) 823 2655. Or, you can make a donation into the band's bank account:
