Harnessed: New Zealand's War Horses exhibition

An exhibition at Papakura Museum on the more than 10,000 horses that accompanied our soldiers to the battlefields of the First World War. August-October 2014.

More than 10,000 horses accompanied our Kiwi soldiers to the battlefields of the First World War. They served and endured and sadly at the war's end they were left behind.
