Calling on Australians and New Zealanders to make a short video of up to 100 seconds duration on their smartphones and upload to the My Gallipoli time capsule on the website http://gallipoli.org.au.
My Gallipoli project calls on everyday Australians and New Zealanders to become their own filmmaker using available smartphone technology. Participants are asked to produce a short video of up to 100 seconds duration, with the freedom to focus on whatever they believe would represent their thoughts and feelings regarding Gallipoli. Participation is free and open to all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. The video style is up to the creator and could be a selfie-style narration, original song or poetry performance, show and tell style or any other form of storytelling.
The My Gallipoli website will become the repository for this Australasian-wide collaboration. Individuals will simply upload their videos to form a community time capsule that can be viewed by both current and future generations.
People contributing their videos will also have the opportunity to have them included in a feature-length documentary that will be curated from this unique crowd-sourced media.
