The Onward Project aims to publish a photograph of every member of the NZEF who served overseas during the First World War, as a memorial to their service.
The Onward Project seeks to locate and publish a photograph of every member of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force who served overseas during the First World War 1914-18. These photographs are collated into volumes, with each volume containing around 4100 images. Each image is captioned with the name and service number of the individual, plus a reference to the source of the photo.
With the completion of Onward - Portraits of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force Vol. 1, Vol. 2 and Vol. 3, compilation of photographs for the fourth volume is now underway. If any of your ancestors served with the NZEF during the First World War, and you have portraits of them, The Onward Project would love to hear from you. For those who wish to submit photographs they can go to the website www.onwardproject.co.nz.
