Otago and Southland War Memorials and Honour Boards

Transcribing war memorials in Otago & Southland. Publishing details of soldiers in our monthly newsletter. Cross-referencing Invercargill Cenotaph to all memorials for future publication.

Invercargill Cenotaph

The Dunedin Family History Group’s purpose is to promote interest in the field of family history through educational programmes, to collect and disseminate genealogical knowledge and information, and to provide support and guidance to those trying to research all aspects of their family history.

One of the group's current activities is to index all War Memorials and Honour Boards in Otago and Southland. Each Memorial and soldier is written up in a monthly newsletter. This project includes cross referencing entries on the Invercargill Cenotaph with other memorials in the region and beyond.

On completion there will a publication cross-referencing the 2000 plus names on the Invercargill Cenotaph. Publication is scheduled for April 2014.
