Passchendaele Steam Train Excursions

A number of excursions and talks on the Passchendaele steam train are planned to commemorate the battle in which New Zealand experienced one of its darkest days.

Steam Train Excursions: Remembering Passchendaele - Take a special steam-train journey to commemorate the Battle of Passchendaele’s centenary. Wellington Railway Station, 14-15 October 2017. 
Return to PaekakarikiHop aboard at Wellington and journey up the coast to Paekakariki as the train returns after a series of journeys marking the centenary of the Battle of Passchendaele. 15 October 2017, 3:15pm.
Talks: Battle of Passchendaele and Memorial Locomotive - Hear two fascinating talks, one about the Battle of Passchendaele, the other about its memorial locomotive – both delivered beside the Ab608 Passchendaele itself. Wellington Railway Station, 12 Oct 2017, 11am.
Talks: Women’s Service in World War I - Come to two talks about New Zealand women’s substantial contributions during the First World War, and explore the Passchendaele memorial locomotive at Wellington Railway Station, 13 October 2017, 11am.
