Pick and Shovel Men, From Tauranga to the Trenches

New Zealand's tunnellers are the focus of the Pick and Shovel Men exhibition at Masonic Park, Tauranga, from 20 April to 20 May 2017. Part of the From Tauranga to the Trenches exhibition series.

Hard of hand muscle and face New Zealand's tunnellers, our pick and shovel men, left their mark on the First World War landscape. The latest exhibition from Tauranga to the Trenches, located in Masonic Park, Tauranga, from 20 April to 20 May, explores the tunnels beneath Arras, France, revealing the hardships and achievements of these brave men, while highlighting graffiti which tells their story.
