Developing short publicly-accessible biographies of all South Cantabrians who served their country during the First World War, in order to record local stories and support commemorations.
Initially local war memorials will be used to develop a list of service men and women who died during the period of the First World War.
Eligibility will be based on very simple criteria – being those who were born and raised in the South Canterbury region, worked or lived here prior to enlistment.
Please note this scope is intended to be inclusive rather than exclusive. The project scope could be extended as the project develops.
