Stories and images of the First World War from Bulls, Rangitīkei, and Manawatū

Bulls Museum is developing a display of local people and personnel who served during the First World War.

An exhibition showing images and information about soldiers from the Bulls, Rangitīkei, and Manawatū area who served. Includes images and information about the Mounted Rifles, in particular the four horses and their masters that returned. 'Beauty' Capt Richard Riddiford, 'Bess' Col Guy Powles, 'Dolly' Major General Sir Andrew Russell, 'Nigger' Major George King.

Special mention is made of Bess and the memorial to her located in Forest Road, Bulls.

Hats, medals, saddle and general memorabilia will also be on display.
