NZ'S FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY 2014–2019

Unexpected Heroes

An interactive and multi-sensory exhibition commemorating the First World War.  The exhibit will be mobile with capacity to be transported throughout the Western Bay of Plenty sub region.

The courage of everyday Kiwis, at the front and at home.

We will be creating an interactive and multi-sensory exhibition commemorating the First World War.  The exhibit will be mobile with capacity to be transported throughout the Western Bay of Plenty sub region, and perhaps further afield as invitations are received.  This exhibit will be a multi-sensory experience to illustrate life for New Zealanders, both at home and engages in the war.  This exhibit will be free to view and consequently will be more accessible to many more people. For further detail, see the concept design document (PDF, 281 KB)

The exhibition is currently located at the Old Katikati Firestation Building, 32 Main Road, Katikati. Entry is free, and the exhibition is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm.
