NZ'S FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY 2014–2019

Wearable Art Poppy Tribute to Horses in WWI

Wearable Art Poppy Tribute to Horses in WWI

It is important to remember the horses that were sent, from NZ, overseas in WWI.

As a tribute I handpainted poppies on a dress, and the words 'Honour' and 'Respect', and also on a horse riding helmet (see photos).

(NB: the photos of horses are of our family race horses - to show our connection to horses)

I was interviewed at a local race meeting in October about Armistice Day.

There is also a photo of a RSA memorial for horses.
