NZ'S FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY 2014–2019

Changes to WW100.govt.nz

23 July 2014

Regular users of WW100.govt.nz will notice that the website has changed. We’ve upgraded the website to:

What has changed?

  • be more mobile friendly
  • incorporate an Events calendar, developed in partnership with Eventfinder
  • move from ‘programme planning mode’ to ‘the centenary has official started’
  • respond to your feedback.

Enhanced activities & projects register
Our register of First World War centenary projects and activities (including events) now:

  • incorporates WW100 event listings added to Eventfinder
  • makes it easier to see what’s happening in your own backyard
  • helps you to see ‘overseas listings’ more easily
  • can be filtered when you search so you just see activities, projects and events.

Find WW1-related content
We have launched a new feature to help you find First World War-related digital content from New Zealand culture and heritage organisations, powered by Digital New Zealand.
This includes access to over 1,000 ‘no known copyright restrictions’ official war photographs held in the Alexander Turnbull Library, and other public domain items from New Zealand museums, libraries and archives.

Support for media
We’ve added a new section with content dedicated to media and journalists. Additional sections for specific groups of people, such as businesses, teachers or event promoters, will be added soon.

Tweets from soldiers and people at home 100 years ago, and
News archive
If you notice that content you recently added to WW100.govt.nz is missing, please email us and we can fix this for you. Mistakes do happen, and we apologise.

Thank you
